Electricity utility providers would like to reduce the total power consumed by their residential consumer segment. Supply to this segment is often subsidized, and the saved power can be diverted to more profitable segments. Alternatively, the provider may be keen on earning carbon credits by inducing reduced consumption in this segment. The societal network in which the consumers reside may have a prevailing norm, for example, saving power is environment friendly and is considered good. Those that consume less are considered more prosocial and may derive a larger reputational benefit. How can the service provider, who is familiar with the pr",

Conventional agricultural practices, while instrumental in boosting productivity, have often led to soil degradation, biodiversity loss, and increased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In response, regenerative agriculture has emerged as a holistic framework for restoring soil health, enhancing ecosystem resilience, and mitigating climate change (Lal, 2016). Conceptually, RA builds on the soil-plant-climate nexus, in which soil health serves as the central regulator, linking carbon sequestration, nutrient cycling, biodiversity, and greenhouse gas (GHG) dynamics. As such, RA integrates soil health restoration and emissi",

The bulk action in AdS d +1 has an SO(1, d + 1) symmetry and is obtained from the evolution operator of the Polchinski’s ERG equation by a map that involves a field redefinition and requires a special form of the UV cutoff function in the ERG equation. In this paper, we show that for any form of the cutoff function, the ERG evolution operator has an SO(1, d + 1) symmetry. The generators of the special conformal transformation depend on the cutoff function.",

The notion of freedom and violence has long been a contested concept; the exercise of freedom in everyday life reveals its deeply contested nature, especially when it comes into contact with others’ freedom and existence. The act of freedom can either limit or violate another’s rights, raising pressing moral questions about the proper way to exercise freedom and, at the same time, inviting curiosity about contrasting perspectives. Does shifting communication strategies to emphasize people’s ability to enact change increase political engagement with climate change? This study examines whether exposure to a news story containing efficacy information is associated with changes in self-efficacy, collective efficacy, and intentions to engage in political activism. Using a quasi-experimental classroom-based design, a single exposure to a news story embedded with efficacy information was not associated with higher levels of any of the three dimensions of political self-efficacy - internal, external, and response - as well as perceived collective efficacy among undergraduate students (N = 731) in a large city in India",

In this article, an attempt is made to collate and analyse the recent research on the different dietary items, recipes and herbs mentioned in the Vajikarana Chikitsa chapter of Charak Samhita pertaining to the male reproductive and sexual health. Cooperation, group economics, and the pooling of resources are all strategies that humans have historically turned to in the face of exclusion. However, the mainstream development sector often views such “alternatives” and “cooperatives” as Western inventions, which is a problematic narrative. A vast literature on the social economy shows the significant contribution of the Global South to the social and solidarity economy. In this study, we survey 1,214 members of MOIs in the state of Kerala, India. Kerala’s MOIs underline the value of citizen engagement and action to improve social provisioning and equity, making it a model for an inclusive economics of global importance.",

The cropping system (CS) approach is more appropriate than a suitable and established package of practices for individual crops, as CS interrelates with other components and resources related to sustainable farming under the changing climate. The importance of CC in the current era must be documented. Hence, an initiative was taken to evaluate the current research published during the last decade to assess the role of the intercropping system in relation to resilience to CC and alignment with the SDGs. The study considered were from 2015 to 2024, supporting the importance of the intercropping system and the mitigation or adaptation of CC in the present context ",

"abstract": "The Contract Law prescribes basic requisites for a contract to be legally enforceable, including free consent and competency of parties. The contract is void when the consent has not been genuine and obtained by coercion, fraud, misrepresentation, undue influence or mistake. Mistakes may be of facts, or law, affecting the agreements. This development has resulted in new opportunities for senior citizens to utilize technology but, at the same time, has also exposed them to severe cybercrime threats. This paper examines the socio-cultural barriers that prevent senior Indians from coming forward to report their experiences of victimization due to hacking. Previous studies have already pointed out the knowledge gaps, decreased intentions to report, inefficiencies in the reporting system, and vulnerabilities intersecting with digital literacy, gender, and socio-economic factors. We have discovered that senior citizens are struggling to navigate digital environments because of insufficient awareness about online cyber threats and risky online practices, which are further wors",

Its basic premise is about a rat who is blessed with an astute smell of taste and extra-ordinary passion for cooking who eventually emerges as the greatest chef in France. He challenges the stereotypical notion that only humans can cook and proves by his culinary expertise that one can transcend restricting power structures and chase one’s dreams and inspire others too to do likewise. The film is a tribute to pioneers who have been marginalised and alienated yet have dismantled oppressive structures, re-ordered power politics and sparked progressive ideological changes and validated their dreams. "abstract": "In today’s post-truth socio-political landscape, characterised by populism, misinformation, and systematic threats to equity and sustainability, traditional evaluation methods may often fall short. This paper introduces a framework built around four interrelated approaches: principles-focused, participatory, developmental, and resilience-oriented evaluation. Together, these approaches provide evaluators with practical strategies for countering misinformation, embedding community ownership of evidence, and fostering adaptive learning that builds resilience. The framework is distinct from prebunking or debunking in that it centres on the evaluation process itself; how evidence is generated, validated, and used with communities, rather than on correcting falsehoods alone. The framework presen",

We adopt the locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type I metric to investigate anisotropic cosmic evolution, which allows for directional dependence in the expansion rates while retaining analytical tractability. The modified field equations are derived using a particular form of the function $$f(R,L_{m})=R/2+L_{m}^{\\alpha}$$ , where $$\\alpha$$ quantifies the strength of the curvature-matter coupling. To obtain exact solutions, we consider power-law forms for the directional scale factors and study the cosmological dynamics under three distinct ",

This paper introduces an alternative paradigm, mapping unreduced Maxwellian field potentials into a practical, semi-chaotic Sprott A analog. This system features an infinite line of fixed points along a shared, volume-preserving z-axis that acts as a topological defect loophole. We demonstrate the action of a non-dissipative geometric operator - the Hala Operator - projected onto this coordinate. By applying a skew-symmetric harmonic constraint, the operator forces an inverse regularity cascade without modifying global phase-space divergence or inducing a plasma current quench. The space-filling chaotic strands systematically collaps",

"abstract": "This article examines wild-mushroom foraging in Wayanad, Kerala, as an instance of everyday collective action that unsettles the hierarchies of caste, class, and knowledge within a neoliberal agrarian economy. Through ethnographic fieldwork and micro-phenomenological attention to smell, sound, and memory, the study examines how communities mobilise mushroom foraging as a moral economy (Thompson, 1971, Past & Present , 50 (1), 76-136). Mushrooms, ephemeral, uncommodified, and undomesticable, constitute a ‘liminal’ (van Gennep, 1960, The Rites of Passage ) good that resists capitalist extraction and complete social erasure. Their gathering depends on inter-sensory collaboration, kinship beyond blood relation, and moral negotiations of access and gifting that reconfigure property relation",

Its primary contribution lies in developing a conceptual and analytical model that positions AI as a coordination layer linking agriculture, water systems, biodiversity, and climate governance within adaptive decision-support architectures. The chapter demonstrates how AI-enabled environmental intelligence - through predictive analytics, optimization, and scenario modeling - can enhance cross-sectoral decision-making, improve resource allocation, and enable anticipatory governance under climate uncertainty. However, the rapid expansion of AI systems introduces significant environmental trade-offs. Training and deploying large-scale models require substantial computational power, contributing to rising electricity demand, water-intensive cooling, and growing electronic waste from hardware production and disposal. Moreover, efficiency gains enabled by AI may generate rebound effects, where reduced operational costs stimulate increased consumption, potentially offsetting emission reductions. This chapter critically examines AI's dual role as both a climate solution and",

"abstract": "We present Maya-OS, the first implementation of a four-neuron affective Spiking Neural Network deployed as a real-time conversational operating system arbitration layer. Four LIF neurons - Bhaya (fear, τ=3), Vairagya (wisdom, τ=20), Shraddha (trust, τ=10), and Spanda (aliveness, τ=5) - continuously read live system metrics and conversational intent signals, producing an affective voltage vector that governs process scheduling, resource protection, and syscall arbitration decisions without hardcoded rules. Across five experimental sessions (133 ticks, Windows 11), we demonstrate autonomous threat accumulation, Shraddha-mediated escalation suppression as an emergent safety primitive, confirmed LIF action potential discharge, intent-driven neural modulation, and autonomous homeostatic recover",

"abstract": "Brihadaranyaka Upanishad is a reflective visual interpretation of one of the oldest and most profound philosophical texts of ancient India. Presented as a carefully designed picture book, this work seeks to make the timeless wisdom of the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad accessible to modern readers through imagery, contemplation, and concise narrative. Rather than functioning as a literal translation or purely academic commentary, the book reimagines the great dialogues of sages, seekers, and philosophers in a format that encourages reflection across generations. The work explores themes such as the nature of the Self, consciousness, reality, impermanence, ethics, knowledge, detachment, and inner awareness through scenes inspired by the Upanishadic tradition, including the debates in King Janaka'",
